Penny Lane
Founded (1969)
Penny Lane Centers care for over 1,400 abused and neglected children and youth. They provide
therapeutic residential services and education for teenagers, foster family home placement for boys
and girls of all ages, and transitional housing for young adults who would otherwise be homeless, and
outpatient mental health services.

L.A. Family Housing
L.A. Family Housing (LAFH) was founded in 1983 to help homeless families and individuals rebuild
their lives through an integrated system of housing and supportive services. In total they own and
operate 21 properties, including three homeless shelters and 18 permanent rental properties. LAFH
served more than 2,500 people living in poverty this past year through it's multiple housing and
supportive service programs, and has served over 10,000 people since it's inception.

Covenant House
For more than 20 years, Covenant House California has been an open door to thousands of homeless
kids... providing them with a safe environment, education, employment and, most importantly, a
chance to become independent, self-sufficient adults. We operate as a multi-service agency, with
locations in the heart of Hollywood and Oakland. Since 1988 we have helped more than 100,000
homeless youth.

EL Nido Family Centers
A comprehensive social service agency that has been serving Los Angeles County for over 83 years.
El Nido has the largest teen parent program in the state of California. They serve between 2500-3500
teen parents and their families at any given time.

Interval House
Since 1979, Interval House has developed innovative programs that serve victims of domestic
violence. Their programs include emergency shelter, transitional housing, emergency response teams,
individual and group counseling and community education, prevention and training. Over 95% of
Interval House staff are multi lingual, ethnically diverse and former victims of domestic violence.

St. Mary Medical Center
St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach has been serving the community for over 75 years. It's
commitment to serving the underpriveledged through community service has set it apart all these
years. Through hard work and commitment St. Mary has become a leader in the Long Beach
community and a shining example in the health care industry.

Family Resource Center at Los Angeles Valley College
LAVC's highly regarded child development curriculum includes comprehensive community
involvement. Their parenting classes that are free to the community along with a selection of other
programs, makes them a partner that Baby Basket California is proud to work with.

The Black Infant Health Program
The MCCN-Black Infant Health Program is a community service program dedicated to improving the
birth outcomes of African American women and enhancing the overall health and well being of African
American families. Mission City Community Network received funding fro the program in 2001. This
program serves the communities in the San Fernando Valley. This is the only program in the Valley
specifically dedicated to African American mothers and their children under two (2) years old.

The MCCN-BIH staff works to provide clients with strong psychosocial and educational support and
assistance to ensure that their babies have the best possible chance at a healthy start in life.

Los Angeles Mission College Child Development Center
Infant & Toddler Care

This childcare center, serving children of students, serves an important need in caring for these kids
while their parents attend college, many of these kids coming from families who are struggling
financially, while continuing their education.

The San Fernando Valley Community Mental Health Center
The San Fernando Valley Community Mental Health Center, Inc. founded in 1970, is a private, non-
profit agency dedicated to improving the mental health of individuals and families within the
community. Primary emphasis is placed on providing services to children, adolescents and
transitional age youth with serious emotional disorders, and services for adults and older adults with
severe and persistent mental illness. The Center is committed to treating all consumers with dignity
and enhancing their quality of life.

Family Promise of East San Fernando Valley
Formed in March 2008, Family Promise of East San Fernando Valley is one of over 150 networks across the country affiliated with Family Promise, a national non-profit committed to helping low-income families achieve lasting independence. Family Promise helps mobilize communities to provide safe shelter, meals and support services for homeless families including programs designed to redress the underlying causes of homelessness.

Providence St. Joseph Medical Center
Located just 12 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles, Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center
in Burbank was founded in 1943 by the Sisters of Providence. With 431 licensed patient beds,
Providence Saint Joseph is the largest hospital serving the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys
and offers state-of-the-art technology and high quality, compassionate care in a variety of medical
specialties.

The medical center has an active medical staff of more than 650 renowned physicians and employs
more than 2,300 staff - including 800 RNs - who share a commitment to provide quality care for all.

Providence Saint Joseph has evolved into one of the most respected hospitals in the region and offers
multiple high quality specialty services and has won several prestigious awards. Additionally, the
Providence Saint Joseph team treated more than 50,000 patients in the Emergency Department
last year.

Providence Holy Cross Medical Center
Strategically located near the intersections of the 405, 5, 118 and 210 freeways, Providence Holy
Cross Medical Center serves both the North San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys. As a 254-bed,
not-for-profit facility, Providence Holy Cross Medical Center offers a full continuum of health services,
from outpatient to inpatient to home health care.

For more than 45 years, the doctors, nurses and staff of Providence Holy Cross have been recognized
for their commitment to excellent patient care. The medical center has an active medical staff of more
than 600 renowned physicians and employs more than 1500 staff-including 500 RNs. Providence
Holy Cross offers multiple high quality specialty services and has won several prestigious awards.
